CRITICAL -  NAMA ABEL BOARS IN SCARCE SUPPLY?
Uploaded September 2005

Where are the 3 Nama Abels in the country? Are they working?

I know Chris Jmpey has one, I have one...... but 1 don't know about the third.

Here is the info on mine:

Since hearing that the Nama Abel line is so small in numbers, Sue Fildes has been working to. ensure that the genes of her young Nama Abel boar are shared around Berkshire club members as much as possible. Dittisham Nama Abel (out of a Farewell) has already been used on three of her gilts, two Orlando/Lady and one Nama Abel/Excelsa. He is now due to additionally cover 2 gilts for Mr David New of Bampton, Oxon, they are Ambassador/Excelsa. Thereafter, perhaps in September, he will move to a new home in Dorset, with Fiona Shaw at Bradford Peverell, who keeps Suzannes.

A photo of this boar is in the photo gallery on me club site - taken at Cornwall where he was long and lean as he had been on the same diet as the 'fat-enough' sows and gilts that he was running with. He won the male BK breed championship at Cornwall, beating a January Ambassador boar into reserve.

Sue's gilts' litters are due between July and September, David's ifi November. I am sure any nice males will be advertised on the club site in due course.
