Bits and Pieces

It is was with great sadness that we received the news of John's death from Joyce on that Sunday morning. I think those of us that had spoken or seen John in those last weeks knew that it was not looking too good. But John as we all know never let anything get him down and he kept going on for as long as was possible. Joyce, who has been a tower of strength and such a wonderful companion in all they have done for the last three years called herself "his bag lady." Our hearts go out to you and I know that you will be in everybody's thoughts over these next very difficult weeks and months.

John will be much missed on the pig circuit both judging and for just being there. I will miss the never-ending chase to get his "frontispiece" off of him each quarter and the very freely given advice whenever you needed it. He had been through a lot with his pig business but still came back never gave up when it got tough. Always looked for the good in people and worked tirelessly for his chosen breed as well as others, he will be very much missed by all who knew him.

The A.G.M. is just around the corner again and I hope that we can get a good turnout, as it is good to see new faces and get different inputs from people. Remember it is your club we want your ideas
please.

Jo would like more pictures to go on the website it is a good way to advertise your herd and remember we are linked to the B.P.A. site so anyone looking there will pick up the Berkshire site.
Don't forget you can have your own web page done and put on the site, if you need some ideas take a look at the www.oldspots.com website; they have some very good ones on there.

I think we will be looking for nominations for the committee if you are interested put yourself forward.

I have not had any for sale ads I think most people are using the site now but please don't forget that there are still people who do not have and do not want computers in their lives so please keep on sending me your for sales etc.
